I’m spending the month of January in Johnson Vermont, at a residency at the Vermont Studio Center. I’ve been here for a couple of days now and after a long red-eye flight, jet lag, and getting adjusted to the time difference I feel that I am just getting going. There are about 50 other artists from all over the world working in every medium. There are several different studio buildings and I am in a converted church.

And I have a bedroom in the Bradley House.

There is a beautiful river that runs through the town right by the main building where we eat all our meals.

So far, I’ve been doing some drawing and learning how to paint with acrylics. I went to a figure drawing session on the first day, and did some drawings of the tables and chairs in the studio. Today I’ve been working on a painting of a plant I borrowed from the dining room. I’ll put up some images of what I’m working on in the next post.
